If you already use Papapapaya for Mac, you can also sync your vocabularies with the Mac version.
The free version can be upgraded to a pro version for just $4.99 via In-App-Purchase. The pro version allows to edit the words and to add your own words and languages.

Vocabulary included

Papapapaya comes with basic vocabularies for some of the most popular languages. To not overwhelm you, the words will be added in blocks of 5 on your demand.
Currently Papapapaya ships with wordlists for all combinations of these languages (each vocabulary contains 600-700 words):

Syncing

Papapapaya can automatically sync your vocabularies across all your Macs, iPhones and iPod Touch devices..
Using the free Dropbox service you can access your words from everywhere: do a short quiz in the bus, quickly add new words in class and rehearse everything at home on the big screen. Your words are always in sync.

Pro vs. Lite

Papapapaya comes filled with vocabularies for English, German and French and can be synchronized between multiple iPhones or Macs. You can reherase the words in the quiz and follow your progress in the statistics.
If that's not enought for you, you can easily upgrade to Papapapaya Pro as an In-App Purchase ($3.99). The pro version lets you add your own words, edit words and create custom languages.

Quiz yourself

Rehearse the words and test your knowledge with Papapapaya's intelligent quiz. The Quiz will always ask you the words that are best to be rehearsed at the very moment.
If you answer words right they will rise in the memory levels, if you answer a word wrong it will drop one level.

Multiple Languages

Manage several different langauges at ease with live switching. The Pro version also allows you to add additional languages and fill it with your own words.

Rehearse	Your brain uses several levels of memory. New things will traverse theses levels from short term to long term memory one after the other. Yet this will only happen if something is needed often. So to keep it in your memory you have to rehearse again and again.
Sleep	Our brain is actually learning when we are asleep. What you learn in the evening will be strongly present in the next morning. And the more new things you try to learn the more sleep your brain needs.
Groups	It is very difficult to learn something without context like a single words. Our brain is highly parallel and it stores new stuff by creating links and connections. It is much easier to learn a group of words from a specific context together (like "things you need for Pizza" or "parts of body") so you can imagine a scene when learning.
Break into pieces	Don't overwhelm your brain. When you have 30 new words to learn, learn them in small groups of 3-5 words. When you know these, learn the next few. Also try to learn groups of words with similar context or similar letters or pronounciation together.
Senses	You should try to learn with several senses. That means to learn a word: read it aloud (speaking, hearing), write it down (doing, seeing), build a sentence with the word to better connect it in context. Imagine the meaning of the word: what it looks like and how it feels or smells.
Use what you learned	Your brain will forget everything that you don't use regularly. To learn a language it is most important to use what you learned. Read foreign books (children's books or comics to start), websites or news. Watch foreign movies. Try to talk as much as you can (in class or alone).
